Greetings! Please forgive me for my tardiness in this Communique. It's not been due to a lack of activity or ministry at PCAC!
God has greatly encouraged us these last few weeks! We praise God for the adult volunteers who are teaching youth Sunday school! These kids won't tell you, but they love the personal attention and mentoring you are offering! We praise God for an unexpected new activity that has potential to create a quiet revolution in our worship. On Saturday mornings a few musicians have begun meeting at the church just to "jam" and play God-glorifying music together (not necessarily to rehearse for Sunday). They are having a great time because they are playing music for the love of music! If you love music and would like to join them, give Willis Ma a shout-out! We also praise God for our "Connecting Couples" small group, which meets every other Sunday afternoon at Richard and Nani Wong's home. We've been averaging 20+ adults and another 8-10 children who are expertly cared for by our youth so that husbands and wives can talk about marriage and learn together how to make this relationship vibrant. It's fun watching people interact and seeing friendships being formed or strengthened at this small group! God has a future for us!
Coming up: This Sunday we will continue our series on the book of I Peter. My message is entitled, "Holiness in Messy Relationships." Come prepared to worship and learn together from God's Word! After the 2nd service this Sunday there will be a congregational meeting to elect 2 members to serve on the Nominating Committee. This committee is assigned the important task of nominating qualified members to serve on our 2016 Governing Board. Then next Sunday, October 25, there will be a congregational meeting to hear a presentation of the Governing Board's proposed budget for 2016. You may say, "Hey, I am not a member, so this doesn't apply to me." Well, why not become a member? Or maybe you want to be baptized. Baptismal classes will be held on October 25, Nov. 1 & 15. If you are already baptized but not a member, there will be a special session on November 15 just for you. Don't stay on the sidelines. Get involved! Please talk to Pastor Brian, who is leading these sessions.
Finally, we want you to pray for the process of hiring a children's pastor. Jesse Martinez has been approved as a "candidate" by the Governing Board. Pray that God will show us His will and answer our prayers for the right person to lead our children's ministries. Thanks for your involvement at PCAC. God is at work and we praise him for several new faces we're seeing in our congregation! Have a great weekend and we'll see you Sunday!
